The Kingdom Come

You have seen it before, gangs of people on a theological website or forum tag-teaming against 1 or 2 people.  The theological thugs typically either are advocating some heresy (like hyperpreterismⁱ) or they found some valid pet-doctrine that they have latched on to & think it is their mission to brow-beat everyone else with it (like Calvinismⁱ).

How it typically happens is that one lone thug is interacting with a person & the person is giving such powerful arguments that the lone thug can't handle it.  The lone thug gets his or her buddies to join in & the thuggery begins.  

I especially find it amusing when a group of theological thugs are making no real headway against their victims & so the thugs call on some presumed scholar/champion of the thugs to come to their rescue.

Depending on the wisdom of the moderators/admininstrators of the forum, the thugs will or won't be allowed to continue in their attempts to intimidate & bully members of the forum.

But what I find amusing to watch, like a paparazzi watching the train-wreck antics of Hollywood elites, is when these same theological thugs try to administrate their own forums. Their attempts to be "civil" & "professional" are laughable.  It is even funnier watching their own forum members constantly correcting these thugs when they start to show their true characters.  Then to watch these thugs try to mask their spiteful speech & conduct by trying not to mention their targets is like watching a mafia hit gone bad.

Once a theological thug, always a theological thug -- unless & until these guys get a good dose of humility & stop patting each other on the back for their corrupt behavior. (Proverbs 5:22-23)
