Sam Popped The Bubble?I am glad to hear that former hyperpreterist leader Sam Frost has left the movement. And during his recent exchanges with one of his former proteges', Mike Bennett it appears Sam won't be straddling the fence anymore. He is even using terms like "historic Christian Faith" -- what I have been arguing for since the get go -- no modified "Realized Preterism" for me. But Sam STILL needs to check his ego. He recently claimed this:
Really? So, the YEARS and YEARS of work by folks such as Ken Gentry, Dee Dee Warren, Todd Dennis, Vince Krivda, PaulT, and myself had no effect? Sam takes credit for "single-handedly" popping the Full Preterist bubble??? Granted, Sam had many followers that have left due to his leaving but I think that had less to do with his arguments (especially since his arguments -- about it being about presupposition -- is in reality MY ARGUMENT), it has more to do with cronyism. Sam's followers are simply following where he is going. Not all of them mind you, but some. Now, I don't want to detract from what is happening. I don't really care what the impetus was for these folks leaving the heresy of hyperpreterism. I'm just glad they left. However, the hypocrisy of Sam berating my arguments for years and then turning around and acting like they were his arguments and he has single-handedly caused many to leave the movement -- that is just an insult to folks who have been combating the heresy longer than he has. Please Sam, have some humility.

More ego
Okay, as more proof that Sam needs help checking his ego, on April 27th during a podcast with a hyperpret named Mike Loomis, Sam again takes credit for supposed increased traffic on hyperpreteristi websites. The hyperpret host even tries to temper Sam's ego by correcting Sam's statement that the increased traffic is "probably" due to Sam. Listen to this 20 second mp3 file:

Continued Ego
Roderick
I am a orthodox Christian ,not a hyperpreterist, and i am thrilled that Sam has left the movement.I also want to let you know that I was introduced to presuppositional apologetics by listening to your show. I am great-full for knowing your show for you have encouraged me time and time again. My comment is that if Sam has left the movement he should repent about his spreading of heresy, Also if he has left the movement and is a christian he is your brother in the Lord.WE, you should come along side him and praise God together. You must forgive him for the way he has treated you and other Christians like DEE DEE.
Roderick I am pleading with you lets not make mistakes like our hero's in the faith. Lets not have that spirit that Luther had toward Zwingli when he said "Zwingli was of the devil and that he was nothing but a wormy nut" Luther even said of Zwingli when he died in battle that the heretic was going to hell.
On a side note i think that the preterist and hyper-preteristi sites are getting heavy traffic is do to Sam, ROE, and yourself.
Your brother in the Lord

Working it out
Ramon,
Thank you so much for speaking your mind in the frame of right and sound doctrine. I most certainly want to believe Sam is repenting of spreading the heresy of hyperpreterismi, although he still allows hyperpret Mike Loomis to paint it as if Sam and he are "brothers in Christ". They clearly are not (if Sam is a Christian and Mike a hyperpret). So, Sam is certainly still working it out. I hope one day he realizes he can't keep sending mixed signals.
I'm not really holding back any forgiveness from Sam, since his ego issues isn't a personal sin against me, therefore he wouldn't really need to ask my forgiveness. I have no hatred for Sam and would even entertain doing a podcast with him.
Thank you for your kind words about the podcasts. All glory to God. Luther is wrong for saying who professes Christ is or isn't going to hell. I've NEVER claimed to know who is or isn't going to hell. That is God's place.
Thanks again for the Christian admonishment and encouragement.
In Christ and His Church,
Roderick
