Refuting Full (Hyper) Preterism
First, I want to highlight the premiere contra Hyper-preterist website. Before C. Jonathan Seraiah authored one of the first book length refutations of HP (“The End of All Things”) there was but one lone website taking on the whole of this malodorous movement. That website is PreteristSite.com, run by Dee Dee Warren. Hyper-preterists' hate her with a passion. And now with the recent trend toward “podcasting”, Warren has launched the battle into that audio domain as well. Listen to her podcasting at PreteristPodcast.com. Recently, there has been an exodus away from Hyper-preterism, both by “rank & file” & by some more well-knowns. With this, has also come more contra Hyper-preterist websites, each focusing on different aspects. Where Warren has led that charge, now other sites have sprung up such as PreteristHeresy, which focuses on putting forth the outrageous quotations from Hyper-preterists. Another site is Advanced Eschatology by Brian Simmons, which focuses on bringing forth historical documentation of Christian theologians & how these theologians reject the Hyper-preterist premises & conclusions. So, whether you are hearing about this term “preterism” for the first time or you are a practicing Hyper-preterist (yes, HP can be “practiced”…at least how it changes one’s character, it can) Check out these sites so that you can be prepared to interact with Hyper-preterists. Or hopefully Hyper-preterism will continue to degrade into the speculative mire it has been floundering in over the last five years & then there will be no need for any refutation...it will just go away.
