Christian Triumphantism

Christian TriumphantismRadio talkshow host, Rush Limbaugh often speaks about American Exceptionalism.  American Exceptionalism is the idea that American concepts are for the most part of the highest quality & therefore affect the quality of every element of American culture -- industry, education, politics & such (source).  But behind the productive quality, not only of America but of much of Western culture is what could be described as Christian Triumphantism.

Christian Triumphantism has been the motive for among many other things; the foundation of universities, hospitals, & political structures that advance freedom.  Christian Triumphantism is based on the simple biblical notion that Kingdom of Heaven ever advances, spreading & consuming the "kingdoms of this world". (Rev 11:15)

It may be difficult for some people to imagine this concept of Christian Triumphantism since all they may have ever known has been the defeatist fatalism of a theological system called "dispensationalism".  But dispensationalism has only been around for about 180 years, which not coincidently is about the time American Exceptionalism began to suffer decline.  This is also the time of the general decline of the quality & productive progress of Western societies as those societies began to embrace more socialistic concepts. (Socialism advocates the non-exceptional nature of ideas -- people are all the same)

Christian Triumphantism has not been lost nor is it gone -- it is just time for Christians to look beyond the 180 years of doom & gloom of dispensationalism & re-embrace the historic Christian Faith & Christian Triumphantism.  Christians of times past were not huddling in their refuges just waiting for the end to come -- but rather even while being persecuted & oppressed, Christians have always had an almost defiant (yet humble & not arrogant) triumphantism where they have realized their eternal King is ever ruling & putting His enemies under His feet (in subjection).

It is time for Christians to get back to that type of faith.  It is time for us to once again declare the victory of Christ -- over the Cross, over the grave, over sin & death, over all the presumptuous things & people of this world. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
