The Obama Files

I thought this was funny. It depicts the implication that Obama wants to distance himself from Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton either because both Jackson & Sharpton represent the too "black" blackness or because both were failed candidates. You decide.

If you didn't already know, TKC is collecting a base of good "feeds". Feeds are links to other sites. In this case I wanted to share a feed to a Christian humor site. Obviously I don't endorse everything coming from these feeds but we're mature enough to sort through it.

Ok, for those who don't know, a Hoosier is a resident of Indiana (a state in the USA, for those outside the U.S.). This weekend my family spent time running around & around in dusty paths in the middle of a corn maze.

check it out here: http://kelsayfarms.com/

The Good Ole' Days

Those Born 1920-1979

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's & 70's!!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and /or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

Da Vinci's Last Supper in Reverse Reveals...

In another example of purposely trying NOT to see the obvious & instead purposely making things up or more difficult & "mysterious", people are now flocking to a new effort to find some hidden meaning in Leonardo Da Vinci's painting, "The Last Supper".

It seems a computer analyst named Slavisa Pesci has reversed the image & then superimposed it onto the original, claiming to see hidden images such as a woman holding a baby within the painting (implying it is Jesus' baby with Mary Magdalene) . See an example of the reverse & superimposed painting below with the woman & another figure outlined.

No one seemed to say anything about this process making the Jesus image appear to be feminine -- maybe the postmodernists were right after all, their version of Jesus is a sissified person that simply goes around being nice to people. -- Naaah, I'll stick with the Jesus of the Bible. Even if we believed Da Vinci was placing secret images in his paintings, what bearing does that have on what the Bible actually says???

The Emergent Church & the iPod

The Emergent Church & the iPod
BY SHANE ROSENTHAL [POSTED ONLINE: JULY 18, 2005]

I’m very fond of my iPod. I pretty much have my entire music collection stored on my little 40gig device, and it can mix all my tunes up randomly, so that it basically becomes my own little radio station. But I have to be the first to admit that there is a downside to this new emerging technology. And that is this: because all my music is available, I have become somewhat less patient with individual songs and I often find myself reaching for the “skip to the next song” button. Why? Because listening to a song all the way through sometimes gets boring. Skipping to the next “randomly picked track” is always exciting.

Why not make your own & post it here? It's good to laugh once in a while, especially at ourselves.

(Wycliffe, Edwards, Spurgeon, & others). So, to show that Reformed folk are positive, jovial folk I'd like to present you with this little presentation that I know even the meaniest Catholic or Anabaptist will get a chuckle out of.

Jabez World

Hollywood continues to get religion, and now Adam Sandler is walking in the footsteps of Mel Gibson. The star of "The Longest Yard" and "Going Overboard" announced today that he is making a big screen version of Bruce Wilkinson's classic, "The Prayer of Jabez."

"This is a huge day for us," said Sandler from his office at Happy Madison Productions. "I get to make another movie where I can give paychecks to all my childhood buddies. Oh, and we get to spread a positive message about that Jabez guy and his prayer."
