The Obama Files

I thought this was funny.  It depicts the implication that Obama wants to distance himself from Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton either because both Jackson & Sharpton represent the too "black" blackness or because both were failed candidates.  You decide.

Even Christians laugh

Even Christians laugh

If you didn't already know, TKC is collecting a base of good "feeds".  Feeds are links to other sites.  In this case I wanted to share a feed to a Christian humor site.  Obviously I don't endorse everything coming from these feeds but we're mature enough to sort through it.

Take a look at the feed here: http://thekingdomcome.com/aggregator/categories/6

Or to see a listing of all the feeds we are collecting, check out this link: http://thekingdomcome.com/aggregator/sources

What Hoosiers do for Fun

Ok, for those who don't know, a Hoosier is a resident of Indiana (a state in the USA, for those outside the U.S.).  This weekend my family spent time running around & around in dusty paths in the middle of a corn maze.

The Good Ole' Days

Those Born 1920-1979

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's & 70's!!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and /or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

Hillbilly 10 Commandments

The Hillbilly's Ten Commandments

(posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainesboro, TN.)

Some people in Tennessee have trouble with all those "shalls" and "shall
nots" in the Ten commandments.  Folks just aren't used to talking in those
terms.  So, some folks in middle Tennessee got together and translated the
"King James" into "Jackson County" language.... no joke, read on...

Da Vinci's Last Supper in Reverse Reveals...

In another example of purposely trying NOT to see the obvious & instead purposely making things up or more difficult & "mysterious", people are now flocking to a new effort to find some hidden meaning in Leonardo Da Vinci's painting, "The Last Supper".

It seems a computer analyst named Slavisa Pesci has reversed the image & then superimposed it onto the original, claiming to see hidden images such as a woman holding a baby within the painting (implying it is Jesus' baby with Mary Magdalene) . See an example of the reverse & superimposed painting below with the woman & another figure outlined.

No one seemed to say anything about this process making the Jesus image appear to be feminine -- maybe the postmodernists were right after all, their version of Jesus is a sissified person that simply goes around being nice to people. -- Naaah, I'll stick with the Jesus of the Bible.  Even if we believed Da Vinci was placing secret images in his paintings, what bearing does that have on what the Bible actually says???

A Nice Covenant

"Behold, days are coming, says Emergent-Postmodern god, when I will effect a Nice Covenant with the world.  But people will come afterward and they will try to teach a Mean Covenant.

Those people will be the followers of a man called 'the apostle Paul.'  They will be exclusivist, conservative, fundamentalist, Western 'Christians.'  They will corrupt my pure, original gospel.  They will teach a covenant of unconditional grace that includes a theory called 'Substitutionary Blood Atonement' and a theory called 'Justification by Faith in the Blood of Christ.'

Right Wing Humor

Conservative T-ShirtsBeing a social, fiscal, & moral conservative, I thought I would share an interesting & funny website with the readers of TKC.  Why right wing humor?  Because liberalism, be it political liberalism or theological liberalism is so off the wall you can either get so angry with it that you want to scream or you can mock it & laugh at it.  Neither political nor theological liberalism can be rationally interacted with because it is not rational, logical, or objective.

The Emergent Church & the iPod

The Emergent Church & the iPod
BY SHANE ROSENTHAL [POSTED ONLINE:  JULY 18, 2005]

I’m very fond of my iPod. I pretty much have my entire music collection stored on my little 40gig device, and it can mix all my tunes up randomly, so that it basically becomes my own little radio station. But I have to be the first to admit that there is a downside to this new emerging technology. And that is this: because all my music is available, I have become somewhat less patient with individual songs and I often find myself reaching for the “skip to the next song” button. Why? Because listening to a song all the way through sometimes gets boring.  Skipping to the next “randomly picked track” is always exciting.

Silly Stuff

Kevin Cox introduced me to a silly quiz program where he had made a quiz about himself.  See it here:

So, I made one too.  See it here:

Why not make your own & post it here? It's good to laugh once in a while, especially at ourselves.
