Apostolic Bible Polyglot Interview 2010

Apostolic Bible

In TKC's continuing effort to bring relevant, useful material and resources that pique the interest of Christians, TKC offers another edifying podcast promoting the work of Christ in the lives of fellow Christians.

In December of 2006 TKC interviewed Charles VanderPool the Editor-in-Chief of a then fledgling Bible translation project called The Apostolic Bible Polyglot (ABP). The project and translation effort has grown tremendously over the years, all glory to God.

Those interested can download free OT/NT from the website apostolicbible.com, but I highly recommend investing in the print edition. Having the Greek immediately above the English and keyed to the Strong's concordance makes this translation a valuable study tool and daily use Bible.

What makes this Bible translation so unique is that the entire translation is based completely on Greek text, for the New Testament and the Old Testament. This allows the reader to make an immediate one-to-one comparison of an English word as it is being translated both in the Old and New Testament. With Hebrew editions, there are three languages that must be navigated.

In this 25 minute interview with VanderPool, we are updated on the progress of the project, including the soon to be released analytical lexicon which will be in number order instead of alphabetical, allowing the user to immediately find the Greek word even if they don't know how to spell it.

VanderPool also shares with us his trip to the island of Patmos and his opportunity to handle the oldest copy of the gospel in existence.

Share in the life work of a fellow Christian. Charles VanderPool is a very humble and unassuming man who as devoted more than 25 years to this project. It will be worth the time to take a listen and get involved with the project.
