A Ministry Worth Your Support: Apologetix

This site has NEVER asked for donations and I am not asking for any now. However, I am asking you to consider supporting another ministry; APOLOGETIX. Apologetix is a great group that has been ministering to people with their music since at least 1992. Not just any people, but young folks, our kids, our children with Christian "parody" renditions of popular secular songs.

This site has featured Apologetix several times including a concert review I posted in 2008 -- http://thekingdomcome.com/apologetix_review

Thekingdomcome.com has also featured Apologetix in our "Parody Player" which contains 174 songs (mainly by Randy Hyde) http://thekingdomcome.com/node/135 and in several videos on Youtube.

So, please consider sending a donation to Apologetix. Pray about it and if you feel led, by all means help them out. What follows is a letter from Apologetix's lead singer, J. Jackson:

"J. Jackson, lead singer for ApologetiX here.

I prayed a long time before writing this, so I hope you can take a moment and read it.

We try to never make our trials sound worse than they are, but frankly, our financial situation is dire.

This ministry supports six families and 17 children. Right now, some of those families, including my own, aren't getting their monthly paychecks. Other bills are overdue, too.

In this economy, ApologetiX has become increasingly dependent upon donations from fans. It's not that we're slacking:

Ask anyone who came to our 20th anniversary concert if they've ever seen a better ApologetiX show. Ask what they thought of the new songs we debuted.

You know how often we run sales on CDs and offer concerts without fees. Even so, it's increasingly difficult to fill our schedule, and we still haven't been able to pay off the production costs for the last CD.

Our financial "glory days" peaked in 2002, but even then we were in debt and operating at a loss.

Back then, CD sales in stores made up over 40% of our income. It's now less than 1%. Compare your Christian bookstore's music section with 10 years ago. It's probably much smaller, if it exists at all.

Thanks to digital downloads, we're reaching more people than ever, but people no longer have to buy it to access it. I don't care as long as God takes care of the bills.

The same thing goes for concerts. Many of them cost us more than we make in ticket sales. It was a lot more economical when gas was $1.35 a gallon. Again, I don't care, as long as God provides.

We ask God many times for help before we ever come to you and ask for help. And if you're in the same situation as us, we're not asking you for help, just prayer.

If you are able to help financially and feel led to do so, please go to: http://www.apologetix.com/store/store-donate.php

If you prefer to mail a check or money order, please make it out to "ApologetiX" and send it to:

Thanks and God bless you. This is very humbling to write, and makes me feel like I'm in That Christian "Panhandling" Band.
